I would freeze them!! I would double bag them, thaw them later when ready to eat, you will probably have to add some water or chicken broth. Good Luck...

You can freeze them, BUT it takes some doing.
The problem lies in the fact that the modern household freezer cannot get the beans frozen fast enough to prevent ice crystals ripping into the beans and causing them to when thawed to become mushy, liquidy and nasty.
So the solution is to speed up the freezing. The best way to do this is with dry ice. It works great with all manner of fruits and other foods that you want to preserve their texture and appearance.
Simply look for dry ice in your area, buy some, stash it in a cooler for about an hour to chill the cooler down as well. Then you pack the beans in two heavy freezer bags with every bit of air you can get out, then stick them into the cooler on top of the dry ice that
has a small pan on it.
Give it a couple of hours and the beans should freeze much faster thereby preventing the slow ice crystal formation.
Too muck work??? Then eat more or chuck them as there is not a better way short of a flash freezer.

Yes, sir. They'll taste the same.
Freeze in increments that you can use in a single sitting, so you can thaw only what you need.
They can be frozen for 6 months with no adverse effect.

Yes! I cook a pot of pintos once a month, mash them and portion them into one-cup containers. Slap a label on them so you'll know what they are and freeze up to 6 months.

Sure, you can freeze your toes if you want. Do plan to eat them, though?

Sure. I have done it. They defrost OK and you can't see or taste any difference in texture.
