I know there are people here at Yahoo Answers that don't believe in ear candles or ear cones but they sell them in many organic food coops and health food stores. Basically, they are tubes or cones that you put the little end in one ear and set fire to the other end. The hot air comes in your ear and loosens waxy build up then the burning creates this suction action that pulls stuff out of your ear.

I won't go into the details here, I'm sure there are websites that explain better than I can, but you can get more information about it at the Alternative Answers yahoogroup:

I've been using ear candles for years and years. My mother and brother use them. I think they're great at nipping ear infections and sinus infections in the bud! I used to get them all the time, one after the other, but now hardly catch a cold. As soon as I feel tickling or pain in either ear, I do a couple of candles on each ear. It never fails, I always get stuff, either wax or a creamy powder that I was told meant I had candida or some other infection in there.

i might want to signify going to the physician for a prescription ear drop. contained in the recommend time, use an eye fixed dropper and fill it with hydrogen peroxide. Lie on your aspect, with no pillow lower than your head, and position some drops of the hydrogen peroxide into your ear. it's going to experience extraordinary, like the hydrogen peroxide is effervescent on your ear. enable it sit in there for further or less 10 minutes, then position a dress or folded tissue over your ear and sit up straight, tilting your head so as that the hydrogen peroxide will drain out of your ear. try this for a minute, then lie on your different aspect (with the dress or tissue between your ear and the exterior you're mendacity on). Repeat the approach along with your different ear. do not use Qtips straight away. Witht hat a lot blockage, all you'll do is shove the wax extra into your ear, that could completely damage your ear.

I have a son who constantly gets blocked ears from excessive production of ear wax. Using q-tips only packs the wax farther down in your ear and compounds the problem. Your ear canal may be inflamed from all the things you have done to it so you must be gentle with it.
You can see a doctor and he can clean it out. If you have to pay yourself it can be very expensive. I had to pay $300 one time.
Consequently, we developed a way to safely remove excess wax safely. We use a few drops of Colace (the stool softener) mixed with glycerine (puncture a capsule and mix it with a teaspoon or so of glycerine from the pharmacy). We put that mixture in the ear and let cotton hold the solution there for an hour or two. Then we use one of those bulbs that you suction a baby's nose with to repeatedly wash out his ears. It never fails to rinse out more wax than seems possible.

You may have to do it more than once but not on consecutive days. Let it rest after doing it once. The wax may come down on its own.

The whole procedure is a little messy and you must not leave the colace in too long or use it alone (it can be irritating), but it works very well.

This was recommended to me by a pediatrician after she picked at the ear wax with her tools left his ear canal bleeding. We have done this ever since, whenever he can't hear what is going on around him.

It sounds like you have a sinus infection. You will need antibiotics.
There is a thing that you can get from health food stores. It is a wax that you melt into your ear and when it hardens you remove it. It will pull out all kinds of junk. You might want to try this first, it could clear you up. If not I would suggest that you go to a Dr. really soon!

Your eustachian tube is inflamed. Take steam inhalation. It will help. Also, close your nose by pinching your nostrils and blow hard. Swallow your saliva.
