I used my friend's razor. I know that sounds dumb, but my legs were so spiky and I didn't want this cute guy to see. Anyway, that's beside the point. What is the likelihood of contracting AIDS from a razor blade?

(I doubt this helps, but I cleaned the razor with hot water and soap before using and didn't use it on broken skin, nor did I accidentally cut myself with it.)

You have almost no chance of getting HIV. However, you are at risk for getting Hepatitis C. Sharing razor blades, nail clippers, etc. is a common way it's transmitted. It doesn't die with alcohol or hot water either. You should get tested for your peace of mind, and obviously, don't share razors again!

If your friend actually has AIDS and used the razor then say cut themselves with it and blood got on it then you used it and maybe got some of that blood into an open sore or cut, then maybe you could get it but I'm not sure. Cleaning the razor with soap and hot water will not get all the blood off of the razor. There will still be some on there whether you see it or not.

I would check with a doctor on this one to make sure that you have nothing to worry about. If the doctor says you should be tested just to be safe, then I would definitely do so.

Blood (and breast milk and semen) transmits AIDS. Hugging and holding hands will not give you AIDS. The only way you'd contract AIDS from this is if your friends cut herself with the razor, didn't rinse it off, and then you used the razor on an open sore or cut (or cut yourself with it). Since you cleaned the razor and since you didn't use on broken skin, you are fine. Hope this helps!

AIDS might want to be gotten smaller through drug use (sharing kit) yet specifically by sexual encounters and as for being pregnant.. till a turkey baster is used its very troublesome so that you'll not get pregnant without some sort of sexual contact.

You should NEVER use a razor shared with someone else, regardless how careful you are. HIV-the virus that causes AIDS is only one disease you can get had you cut yourself, but HCV, is another. There are others as well! Staph infections, HBV....

Hepatitis C (HCV) becomes infectious again when reconsituted, unlike HIV- all it takes to become infected with HCV is one tiny drop of blood (even unseen to the eye) - regardless if you washed the razor off. If there was one opening on your legs, the HCV virus could of came in contact with your blood stream.
I would get a test done just to be safe.

good luck

I'd be more worried about Hep C. You need a minimal amount of blood to get it and it can survive much longer outside the body. There is basically no chance of you contracting AIDS this way.

Transmission is generally by direct transfer of bodily fluids through sexual relations, sharing of blood-contaminated needles, childbirth, breastfeeding, or medical procedures (eg, transfusions or exposure to contaminated instruments). Boiling or cleaning them with alcohol does not guarantee sterility.

Actually that would help. AIDS only lives for 3 minutes outside the body.
