50-60 pounds in nine weeks is not a healthy weight loss. It will be drastic and the consequences on your body will be harsh. Even if you DO loose 50-60 pounds you will still have hanging skin that won't just go away without proper skin care and exercise. I am losing about 3 pounds a week eating just raw and boiled vegetables and some chicken breast and brown rice here and there with no butter or sauces. I am running two miles a day on a treadmill and doing sit-ups to tighten the skin as I go.

I've presonally lost that much weight myself, but over 4 months and change, maybe more. And it was a lot of jogging and resistance work right afterwards.
Plus adhering very closely to the 5-6 meals model (a small 300-400 calorie meal every three hours based on my individual caloric needs), of mostly steamed vegetables throughout the day.
I used the USDA pyramid to figure out my calories, and used egg whites for protein almost excusively (I'm semi-veg).
Then even more jogging.
It wasn't easy, but well worth it to do regularly as a lifestyle change and not a quick fix.
The bad news is that most experts will tell you not to crash through 50-60 pounds in just over two months. That's almost a pound a day.
Very dangerous.
The good news is that if you just started working out, you will make the greatest progress at the beginning, more than an experienced, athletic person. Newbies tend to make very dramatic outward changes when they commit to a program.
I suggest to keep going to the gym and be grateful for any health, fitness and appearance benefits you will get. If you lose 20-25 pounds, wouldn't that be twenty pounds more than if you never went to work out at all?

Bottom line if you are looking for better eating tips and a good gym plan then it sounds like you are trying to do things the "right" way and you will not lost that much that fast...
BUT...I'm pretty much the queen of the wrong way. I would say invest in a few different diet pills and see which one works the best for YOU...I like either Smartburn or Cortislim Burn. You want one that makes you not want to eat and gets you all pepped up. Either that or drink tons of strong, black coffee. Reduce your meals to practically nothing...like no breakfast, an apple for lunch and a half a can of tuna for dinner. Diet pills and coffee will help because at first you are going to crave food like crazy (when you drop body fat your body goes into starvation mode and you want to eat everything in sight)...diet pills and coffee will curb those urges. Don't drink tons of water or eat tons of veggies like everyone says -again, that is part of the "right" way not the "fast" way. It is harsh on your body but you will lose the weight. I am a soldier and had to lose all my baby weight in 42 days before returning to work and that is how I did it. I also lost 75 pounds that way after my first son (and I lost it in 2 months). People will advise against what I have said but trust me...if you feel you need to lose and lose fast...this will work.
P.S. If you are going to the gym, lifting heavier weights will work against you dropping numbers on the scale but it will help you tone...it converts fat to muscle and the more muscle you have the more calories you burn in a day...decide what you want (to be more toned or to have a pretty number on the scale) then you can find a workout that is tailored to your desires.

You cannot safely lose that amount of weight in that time period- you WILL hurt yourself.
You can expect to safely lose 2 to 2.5 pounds per week (that's one kilogram on the metric system) by maintaining a consistent low caloric intake and expending (burning off) calories with cardiovascular activity.
It is NOT worth ending up in a hospital and missing your trip- do not try and attempt this impossible and unintelligent endeavor.
Laxatives, purging, and diet pills do NOT work- if they did, we'd all be thin, wouldn't we?
You need a nutritionist consultation to teach you how to eat properly.
Good luck!

That's a lot of weight to lose is that amount of time, I would try a Raw Detox. program, this way you will clean all the toxin out and lose weight, I lose 20 lbs in 6 month, but you could lose more if you have more to lose, this should be a lifestyle change not a quick fix. check out this web site and kept going to the gym.

50 to 60 pounds is definitely not healthy in 9 weeks.
However, it won't make you lose 50 to 60 pounds in 9 weeks, but you should try veganism. It made me lose 25 to 30 pounds. Make sure you eat a HEALTHY vegan diet, though.

go vegan. but dont cheat and eat the shitty foods that are still available. this is a life style change. i dont think you'll lose 50-60 pounds in that short of a time, but you will lose some weight. if you really want this, then you can stick to this.

not really possible, I suggest you cut your food intake by 1/2
eat half as much as you used to, and only eat good food, healthy food, eat your protein, and eat 5 small meals a day, drink lots and lots and lots of water, water makes you feel full, you don't need to go to gym, you just need to work out, go for long walks, if you can jog, go for morning jog and after noon jog, you need to slowly lose the weight, if you do what I say, you problly lose 10 lb a month, eat very little fats

Here is a simple, healthy and fast diet. My dad tried it, and lost over 50 pounds in one month.
You can only eat 3 items: green apples, peaches and yogurt (non-sweetened, and non flavored is better). The fruits should not be pealed, and the yogurt should never be sweetened (try it with salt and very little crushed garlic if you wish). Flavored yogurt must be non fat, but plain one is ok to be full cream. Fruits can be alternated (apple-day, peach day) but yogurt is a must everyday if you wish to survive. And drink lots of water (no other drinks allowed, except for apple or peach juice).
You MUST stick to these items very strictly. It is hard to follow such a diet, especially with others eating normally around you, but results can be clear in 2 weeks. Gym is of course a good boost.
And at the end of the diet, don't start eating normally all of a sudden... Instead, start mixing usual food into the apple-peach-yogurt diet.
Hope you make it!

Eat nothing from a vending machine or that you can buy on the street or from a stand (bottled water and diet drinks are ok)
Eat nothing you can't list all the ingredients of (i.e. cheese sandwich is ok; Entenmann's cake is not)
Eat as many veggies as you want
If you're tempted to eat, rinse your mouth with minty mouthwash or gum and wait 15 minutes
Do crunches every day
Walk/run as much as you can
