It is not an uncurable disease for guys but for girls it can be fatal, if you give a girl HPV she will not even notice it until she either gets a pap smear or she gets really sick and finds out she has cervical cancer. Men give women HPV's , there is no other way around it since it is not something you catch from sitting on the toilet, men are the ones that carry the disease from a vagina to another. So if a guy is HPV possitive you can be sure you gave it to all women you had sex with without protection.

ok. First - men are just carriers of high risk HPV (cervical caner type) There is NO test for men to tell if they carry it or not. Low risk HPV (genital warts) - men and woman both can show symptoms, however woman are more likely to show then men. High Risk (which your talking about) until science cathes up - you wont know if you had it or have it. There are studies now that show that is is possible - but RARE that HPV will infect the throat and cause throat cancer. The Center for Disease Control states that in 91% of the cases that HPV (high and low risk) will clear its self of the virus. They are not 100% sure if your body just supresses it or if it is completly cleared. With that said - we wont know...we can just speculate. Its refreshing that your worried about your girlfriend - however, if infact you guys have it....we dont know if she gave it to you - or you to her. HPV can lie dormant for years and then come up in her pap (a womans annual exam) years later. If you really want to know the answers - i have attached the Report sent to Congress from The Center Of Disease Control.

Yes, men can get it HPV . In fact if your partner has it most likely you do too.
Even using a condom does not insure complete protection from this virus . There are over 100 kinds of HPV virus. Some are High Risk HPV and other low risk HPV . Keep in mind it is rare for “high-risk” HPV to lead to cancer.
There is currently no treatment available for the virus itself
Men are typically screened clinically with a visual inspection to check for lesions (such as warts) – there is no specific way to test directly for HPV in men that is approved for clinical use.

Yes a man can get HPV although it is often low grade HPV. Women run a higher risk for contracting HPV at a high grade level which can often be cancerous.
If you have HPV and have unprotected sex you have a 99% chance of l transmitting the disease.
HPV is one the most common STD's in the US.

All About Warts
Warts are skin growths that appear on any part of the body. This growth is non-cancerous and caused by a family of virus known as human papilloma virus (HPV). Despite common belief, warts do not have a root. They grow on the epidermis. Warts are skin-colored most of the times and rough in feel. Some warts may be dark in color and smooth to touch. Warts may grow individually or in a bunch. The virus spreads from one area of the skin to another and also from one person to another. Although warts may be left alone and may disappear after some months or years, most of the people get them treated because they affect the appearance. Also if they are not treated, instead of disappearing, sometimes they may grow in number. Let us discuss about the types of warts and their treatments.
