Increasingly productive cough as the lungs expell the waste products deposited there by the smoke. Increased anxiety from craving the nicotine (this is eased with nicotinic products but never completely goes away). Weight gain is common, the smoker replaces the hand to mouth motions with food instead of cigarettes. After three days all nicotine is out of the system, and the physical craving begins to abate....but the habit of hand to mouth is a great deal more difficult to get away from. The thick mucous filled cough will last anywhere from a week to a couple of months depending on how long you've smoked. (how much tar and crud is deposited in the lungs) You can also exude nicotine through the pores of your skin, giving you a distinct odor for several weeks. Again, how long that lasts depends on how long you've smoked.

You might find that someone can become grumpy or irritated by the simplest of things they might also become agitated and tend to eat more as a substitute for the ciggies that they can't have

Eating, weight gain. You have to find something to do to keep your hands busy so you don't think about eating or having another smoke. Maybe find a ball or pick up knitting.
