I recommend not doing that.
It's embarasing for the recipient and extremely demeaning to the servers who have to do it.

If you do ask that they do it, PLEASE tip them for the crap they just went through.

My latest experiences are that restaurants are refusing to do this! Has something to do w/ privacy act. I'm sure some liberal jerk sued Olive Garden for singing Happy Birthday and revealing an age or something.... I've seen it sung more at locally-owned restauratns rather than a big chain.

i beleive that any resterant will do this if you pay extra and supply a cake money talks all the time .

"Cheesecake Factory" does it. It has very delicious food and dessert, also very cool atmosphere, I love it, It is my favorite restaurant.. enjoy it!
