The chance of getting oral HSV-2 is really really rare. It dosen't happen. Most doctors, even skin specialists have never seen a case. HSV-2 prefers the genital region, and most people have HSV-1 oraly allready.
Get a blood test for HSV-1/HSV-2 and see if you have either. If you've got HSV-1, it's probably oral, and you can't really get herpies twice in the same place. Having HSV-1 antibodies also gives you 40% immunity to a genital HSV-2 infection.
Go for it dude. The risk is really low.
Wear a condom all the time as well..your chances of not picking it up are pretty good if you always practice safe sex.

Herpes is not too terrible, so in a committed relationship I would risk it. But I recommend using a dental dam. If you can't find any or it is too much trouble, you could try some saran wrap, a condom cut down one side and opened up, or a ziploc bag that you cut open so that it's flat. Experiment and see what feels good.

yeah! i have oral herpes and my wife does not, we've been together for 5 years. tell her she needs to be on valtrex, or another supressing drug because even though she does not currently have a breakout, it can drastically reduce the chance that you will get the disease. if she isnt on anything for it now, you are at a great risk of contracting the disease both on your mouth, and down below if you arent using protection.

you are aware that if she is infectious at the time that you can get become infected both orally and genitally, right?
As to whether you want to be with her forever, that seems to me to be a personal preference. It sounds as though you've already put yourself at risk of contracting the virus, so I would think that you've already made your peace with it.

how often does she have outbreaks? some people can "carry" the virus but if they take good care of themselves, never have outbreaks. so if she is one of those types, then i say go for it. i'm sure she'd tell you if she thought she was about to have an outbreak. if you love and trust eachother, herpes doesn't have to be an issue.

You will eventually end up with herpes anyway, so why not?
I would never "spend the rest of my life" w/ anyone who's had an STD, especially not herpes...

You really never know if a relationship is going to last forever.
Sounds to me like you want a STD.

I would use a dental dam. Why risk it when you can just use a dental dam and be protected.
