sex is out of the question..they have been married 10 years ..not the happiest of marriages but at 49 he feels sort of stuck/settled..he almost feels that he is too old to "start over" he is weighing all his options and any other honest options would be appreciated..She is 37..if he were to get sick, he has said she would not help him and he would have to go bankrupt...i dont think this is much of a "marriage" and told him he should look closely at divorce options...if the shoe were on the other foot...say he gave to her..she would take him to the cleaners...

I had abnormal pap smears for nearly ten years, and my GYN would monitor the situation, and do the colposcopies as they were needed. After I moved, my new GYN tested me for all of the STDs, and it turned out that I had HPV.

Just because the average onset of symptoms is 2-3 months from initial contact, doesn't mean that it is that way in all cases. I am grateful that at least my husband was understanding about the situation, and listened to what information the doctor gave him.

And, as for men getting tested, my understanding is that the tests for men are extremely unreliable, as the only way to diagnose HPV is if there is an actual outbreak occurring at the time. You may wish to look at the CDC website and read the information available to you and your friend there (http://www.cdc.gov/std/hpv/default.htm ). Especially read: http://www.cdc.gov/std/hpv/STDFact-HPV-and-men.htm#test

Hopefully your friends can work through this.

I got diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about three yrs ago, whilst I was still in college and had a stupid one-night stand. I know loads of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with someone who has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/u4EXY everything changed.

Not only was I able to eradicate all remnants of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just last week, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This method provided me the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others too by sharing this story.

maybe maybe not allot of women are born with hpv (human papoloma virus and allot of times it will not show up until later in live and sometimes it will cure on its own sometimes it can be deadly. it really all depends you would have to go back and look into her family history and personally you cant always go based on a website an actually physician needs to be consulted in this situation. and try to stay out of it as much as possible that it from someone who has been there and done that because if the test comes out showing she was born with it he will my like you after words it sounds like you may be the one that wants to know more then him so i would suggest you stand back and let him handle this and just be there for him if he needs you other wise he may loose her and you may loose a friendship

Like you mentioned venereal warts can lay dormant for years. So her husband may be totally innocent. She might have slept with someone years ago and it will only show up now. It can be got rid of but will always be around. What i mean by that is that it can show up again in later years. Venereal warts is also the cause of cancer down by the woman's bits so she must make sure that she goes for check-ups regularly. Good luck to her and her hubby.
