My kids went to their dad's house for xmas vacation---my son had the flu when he went and their dad's step son had the flu as well. My 2 girls did not. Then a few days later One of my girls got sick---assuming the flu. Anyway, it has been 2 weeks now and I have them back. My son seems better but still a very dry cough and fatigue and my daughter feels better but still has a very nasty cough that just wont go away with medicine and she too is fatigue and doesnt want to eat as good as she usually does.. I figured after 2 weeks the flu should have cleared up by now. Or atleat alittle---they have no fevers. What is weird is my older daughter was around all this and didnt get sick at all. Thank goodness....anyway is this pneumonia?

I would make them an appointment, it could be it's not a virus but is actually a bacterial infection, could be pnuemonia, but there are other causes as well. I would have them checked could even be mono.

If you are concerned about your daughters having pneumonia even if its "walking pneumonia" have them checked out. Colds as well as flu's are lasting longer and like bacterial infections are taking longer and are getting harder for the body to rid itself of. My daughter who is terminally ill often fights pneumonia and NEVER has a fever from it. Usually she is very tired, her color changes and she has problems breathing. I am familiar with her symptoms when she gets ill so I know what to look for and I take her in right away, however with your children that I'll assume are lucky to have good health their symptoms may differ then hers. Take them to be evaluated it might be nothing but be on the safe side

two weeks is a long time to be sick...I would definately make appointments now. Could be nothing, just a long cough, but it should be checked just in case. Hope all is feeling better soon.

Have their doctor determine this. An undetected pneumonia can cause the heart valves to be affected.... which weakens the heart's ability to work efficiently.

it is terrible right here too, Trixie! The Lake is preserving us quite warmer, yet there is this snowy-sleety-haily-wet stuff falling top now. it is merely depressing outdoors, so the trick-or-treaters have been particularly scarce. desire the youngsters stay healthful. :)
