Pneumonia is a lung infection. It might be causes by bacteria or viruses, most of them will need antibiotics to clear up. Patient presents with fever, cough, might have trouble breathing or chills. If you take chest x rays, you'll see either a white solid area on the sick lung or difuse hazy images.
Pneumonia won't clear up by itself, and can be life threatening in small children, older people and patients with inmune disease. Those "high risk" groups must be admited to hospital.
If you think you might have it, please see a doctor asap

Pneumonia is varied depending on the location of the infection, but in general it is an inflammation of the lung.

Pneumonia is a clinical diagnosis that has 5 criteria:
1. fever
2. increased white blood cell count
3. new infiltrates on chest x-ray
4. cough
5. distinct sounds heard in the lungs

Those are most common, there are many more.
