You can get them at Marks and Spencer, honest I used two of them at my wedding (now divorced, not that that had anything to do with the cake)

Most small bakers require notice, where I worked asked for 48 hours as a cake cannot be iced until it is totally cool, and if you are using more than one colour one may need to set before you use another.
As previously answered, Marks and Spencers do an excellent plain cake that can be used as is, or decorated. my friend also used this as the base for her wedding cake, and just added wired beading around the 'skirt'. It looked beautiful.
Good luck.

You could get a very plainly iced xmas fruit cake from any supermarket (and they will be in white icing so you can decorate it how you want to) or get a cake of your choice and some "ready to roll" icing which you roll out to cover the cake yourself but you will need to cover the cake in melted apricot jam (or something equivelant) first before you try to put the icing over as it won't stick to the cake.
I would try the Xmas cake option first

Best place I know is Costco, they sell large cakes that everyone will love the icing is just right and generally white but they can pipe flowers etc while you wait, and they sponge is light and to die for, trust me, I am having my 18th party this Saturday and I am going to get a couple, the best bit is there only £10 a real bargain for what you get!!
Hope this helps and have fun!!

You can get undecorated ones in Asda. I know they have a photo service that only takes 3-4 hours. Basically you take in a photo and they will put it on top of the cake with icing. Its really good, and looks exactly like the photo. Really unusual too

No, eyeshadow is made to go on your face and it might be non-toxic to use ON the skin but will probably make you feel seriously ill if you ingest it. It's not safe to eat it. I suggest you go out and actually buy some real icing to decorate your cake with, it might be more expensive but it actually lasts for a long time and is actually edible.

you could get a plain chocolate, carrot or vanilla iced cake from sainsburys, asda or tesco then get a chocolate plaque decorated at thortons and put it on top, Cosco is also a good choice, the cake is really nice and you can get huge ones but i dont know how long they take.
