My husband says he would do his famous shrimp etouffee. I can't decide which dish I do well enough to make the cut! :) Maybe chicken picatta with gazpacho OR red curry chicken with avacados and a coconut soup.

The question is based on role-reversal so I don't agree with the responses to have the guests do the cooking, potluck or otherwise. I also don't think they'd like it as much to have their own signature dishes served up to them by an amateur. Most of them seem to enjoy experimentation. I think stuff they aren't used to would get the best response from them.

Probably some of my favorites, without trying to impress them. Probably some combination of my crab chowder, my curried basmati rice with shrimp, tossed salad with my balsamic dressing and homemade croutons, my grandma's pasta casserole thing with spaghetti, chicken, bacon and cheese, and for dessert, my great aunt's pistachio pie.
A good home-cooked meal.

I would serve a Ceasar Salad first, followed by the main course Rosemary and Pepper Standing Rib Roast with Two-Mushroom Pan Sauce, Golden Potato Gratin, Roasted Tomatoes with Stilton and Haricots Verts with Carmelized Shallots. I would serve Chianti and Chardonnay and finish off the meal with a Spiced Cranberry-Pear Tart.
In fact I'm serving this menu tonight for an anniversary party. I'm afraid Paula, Emeril, Rachel, Mario and the gang never responded to the invite.

A whole roast chicken with rosemary and Lawry's seasoned salt to crisp the skin, fresh steamed veggies in the micro (whatever looks good at the market) with a little butter, a big green salad with tomatoes and so on, and fresh hot bread from my bread machine with butter. Serve with a nice white Zinfandel, and chocolate goo cake for dessert with coffee.
CHOCOLATE GOO CAKE
(1) German chocolate cake mix
(1) 14oz. can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
(1) jar caramel or butterscotch ice cream sauce
(1) 8oz. Cool Whip
Heath bits or toffee bits to taste
Bake the cake mix in a 9x13 pan according to package directions. While still warm, poke it full of holes with a wooden spoon handle and pour over the sweetened cond. milk and the ice cream sauce. Cover loosely and refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Just before serving, cover the cake with Cool Whip and top with Heath or toffee bits. Keep leftovers refrigerated.

i bet they are all tired of fancy meals by the time they aren't cooking and would appreciate something simple but well presented with a great wine and bread, remember fresh iced water lets you enjoy each flavor crisply. be sure the napkins are clean and folded, no spots on the silverware and a simple centerpiece of say daisies in a fishbowl with color themed marbles. presentation and lively conversation make any meal a feast to remember.

Oysters on the half-shell, a big green salad, and good bread. Along with a tub of bottled beer on ice.

I would make sure I had all kinds of groceries on hand. Then I would burn the heck of out something. That way, with all those chefs, they would go into the kitchen and fix something scrumptious!
