Boy! Are you ever eating in the WRONG restaurants........

Most of the respondents seem to have it right:

1. You're unfamiliar with it.

2. Ya gots ta TRY it!

Not all restaurants prepare curry in the same way (kinda' like spaghetti (marinara), barbecue, or chili in the U.S.; it's about personal preference.).

I was born in Texas, raised around the world (military family), and I LOVE curry!

My ex loves curry.

My son loves curry.

My oldest daughter is ambivalent about curry.

My youngest daughter hates curry.

Remember, also that other cultures prepare quite different forms of the mouthwatering types most often associated with India:

Thai

Burmese

Malaysian

Please shop around and give it (another?) try.

Have A Nice Day.

You like what you know. When I see an indian curry my mouth waters it is so appetizing.

It could simply be because you have not got the bug yet.

i think its a cultural thing.

if you arnt used to seeing something or eating it of course you wont find it appetizing.

after 3-4 times eating it (if you LIKE it) you will no longer think of the pile of gloopy rice covered in shiny sauce and shoveled awkwardly onto some weird looking flat bread as unappetizing,

but rather as a delicious shiny good smelling stuff to be measured and placed gently onto your warm Naan bread, wrapped lovingly within and crunchily eaten with warm spicy aromas drifting through your nose...

TRY IT and SEE.

just like green eggs and ham!

We eat as like normal people . That's why we eat cooked meals. But you are used to eat raw meats like ancient people so you couldn't see the mouthwatering feeling from our meals. Poor guy
:-(

The same reason crispy fried bugs don't look so appetizing to some. You're just not used to it.

culture factor. indians find them exactly appetizing and mouth watering.
I, an Indian, find continental cuisine nauseating for the same reason.

Two things, because you're not used to it and it isn't the prettiest food out there.

But it's great.
