Eats healthier than she used to, and still she cant ever have 2 days in a row with a normal blood sugar level. Aso shes a little resistant to her insulin and takes MetFormin to help that. On top of that has an insulin pump! Shes on the verge of giving up on it all! what can she do, does anyone have any suggestions or things that they do to improve themselves? Thank you !

Why not tell her to keep track of what she eats and that may give her some idea of what not to eat. Being a Diabetic is very hard to live with but it sounds like she is on the right road. There is so much to learn about diabetes.. They do have some good reading about it at K-Mart and other pharmacies. If your friend can't find any information at those places have her The American Diabetes Origination for help.

Well, I can say this, even if her control isn't perfect (and sometimes it's very hard to get it to be perfect, the only thing to do is keep tweaking things with her doctor) than any control is better than no control. So although in an ideal world her sugars would be at normal levels, reality is sometimes messy, but the closer she can get to those ideal blood sugar levels, the better she will do in the long term, the longer she will go without getting complications, and the healthier she will be. So even if it's frustrating, you don't need to achieve perfection to get benefits, the best thing to do is just keep doing all she can and work closely with her doctor to try to improve things any way they can.

It is tough to have diabetes. It is all about taking the right meds, eating the right foods and amounts to meet your needs daily.
Many people and doctors used to say that we had to eat the same amount of food and take the same amount of medication daily.
That is no longer true.
Your friend shouldn't be worried that her sugars are not the same everyday. They aren't suppose to be.That is one of the challenges of diabetes.
Perhaps a class in diabetes education or a support group would help her to understand that ?
I wish her the best and give you a great big gold star for being such a great friend.

She really needs to see an endocrinologist ( adoctor who specialises in diabetes and other illnesses caused by endocrine disorders). Stabilising a diabetic is a highly individual and skilled job and it really isnt something people here can help with, no matter how good their intention.
One thing I would say is to get your friend to take 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon every day, twice a day (on cereal or in tea/coffee) it really helps bring down the levels.

Its 6.1 always It is hard to balance and I am hard on myself when I know i should be 92 and my meter tells me i'm 192. But I have to look at the big picture my a1c.
