I had asthma when I was younger and luckily, I grew out of it within time. But now for these past few years, when I'm running or playing in gym class; I will run out of air/breath and it will burn real bad in my chest and what feels like my throat. Today I was in gym and it got really bad, I couldn't breathe and I just kept coughing really badly until I got more air. I wasn't sure if it was something to worry about so I didn't see the school nurse, I just sat it out until I could get back in the game, but then the bell rang. Could this be my asthma acting up again, if not; what else could it be? I'm not overweight and I'm 17.

also, we just came in from being outside for a fire drill in the cold and restarted our soccer game inside ( if that has anything to do with it ) however, this isn't the first time this has happened.

Yes asthma can come back. To be honest it never really goes away. Your body learns how to deal with it. SInce you are playing sports and going from warm air to cool air and back it probably is just a flare up. I would go back to the doctor and ask him for an emergency inhaler. Since you've had asthma you were probably on one at one point. If it worked then, the Dr will probably give you the same type again. Good luck with everything.

Yeah! Your asthma could come back. I had adult onset asthma which means I didn't have it when I was younger I just developed it when I was about 13 It bothered me up until I had my baby and stopped bothering me for about 2 years and now it is back again. I would definitly call your doctor and see if he can get you on some meds.
