There are more than one causes of abnormal paps and cervical dysplasia and cancer. The commercials recently out are misleading listen carefully and they will tell you NOT all cervical cancers, etc are caused by HPV. It's just the majority of them are. Ask your doctor specifically, he can tell you straight up.

I'm hard-pressed to think of anything else it could be. The poster above was correct when she said not all are caused by HPV, but most (99%) are. The best thing you can do is ask your doctor what your status is, and if he/she doesn't know, then ask for an HPV test. Understand, though, that you may get a false negative. The best way to know for sure is to have a test run on the tissues that were removed during the procedure (such as your LEEP).

I learned on http://www.webmd.com that you can get pap smears that are good and normal and still have HPV, ask your doctor about it and say that your are really concerned about the potential chance that you might have HPV.

most likely it was, but if your paps are normal now, you don't have it anymore. most people get infected with that virus, but some people fight it off better where it does not cause cellular changes. don't worry about it. just go back annually for a check up.

they can actually take a biopsy right during the pap smear...(doesn't hurt) to find out.

Not unless he told you so. It requires several treatments to get rid of the warts.....ask him if you're not sure....he has to tell you.
