There is a magazine called "Vegetarian Times" with good articles and recipes you might want to try.

There are lots of meat substitutes, and some taste better than others. Experiment with these as part of a vegetarian diet.

Just make sure you're eating a balanced diet. Unless you're going vegan, this is pretty easy to accomplish if you're eating sensibly. Avoid fast-food. It still isn't vegetarian friendly or healthy.

And you don't say why you want to become vegetarian, so you might want to keep meat as part of your diet once or twice a week until you get settled in.

Good luck!

u can share ur decision with other pple if u want but if u want 2 b criticize should not do it not until you feel confident with ur knew diet. I am 16 years old and I became a vegetarian when I was 14 and 6 months ago I became a vegan so I know a lot about vegetanism. You can visit GoVeg.com or .org and order a free vegetarian start kit, it will really help you. Mean while u can visit hsus.com or peta.com they have lots of information there (trust I have been a member in Peta for a pretty long time). Instead of eating meat u should eat tofu and vegi meat. oh yeah and lots of vegetable especially the green ones and lots of fruit. Oh and beans, peanuts, nut, dried fruits and etc. It might b hard in the beginning but you will feel good when you realize that u r not contributing to non human animal cruelty, to famine and enviromental issues. Good luck and don't let nobody tell u that eating meat is ok and healthy because is not.

Quite possibly the most important point will be that you replace the protein in a healthy fashion.

1.Don't try to double up on cheese as a replacement.

2.Consider adding different varieties of canned beans to dishes such as stir-frys, casseroles, etc. as a replacement.

3.There are many meat substitutes available, although many are expensive and as always - some are better than others.

4.Try Extra Firm Tofu. Be sure to drain and lightly press the water from the block before preparing. Tofu will absorb any flavor it is cooked with, therefor try a marinade before cooking. Many prefer lightly frying tofu as the best option.

5.Try Tempeh. It is another soy option which can be prepared much like tofu.

6.Feel good about the fact that you are doing a great thing for your body! Enjoy!

I would suggest you start by reading articles on the internet about going vegetarian, and possibly picking up a copy of Vegetarian Times magazine. They have some really amazing articles.

Also, it isn't a bad idea to speak with someone else who has done it (perhaps someone at your local health food store) and a dietician to make sure that you aren't missing out on any essential nutrients or vitamins.

Download the free veggie starter kit http://goveg.com/pdfs/VSK_celeb.pdf it is from http://www.goveg.com and it is a helpful little pamphlet on how to switch over to a veggie lifestyle. It shows you the who is a vegetarian, why people choose this as their diet, and there is a good section called "Making The Transition" that you might really want to check out. I really do hope this information is helpful to you. I have been a vegan for two years, and It always makes me happy seeing someone else thinking about making the change to a healthier and friendlier lifestyle.

I can't imagine not being vegetarian! Every non-vegetarian food you eat has got a decent veggie alternative. Beans on toast, pizzas, jacket potatoes, quiche and salad.they're all veggie without trying. Spaghetti napoletana?.If you like a fry up just have eggs toast mushrooms beans tomatoes etc. The best range of vegetarian alternatives is Quorn available in the uk.

tofu, soy milk, soy beans, try to eat only fresh veggs and fruit, they taste 100 times better then frozen and canned food

put fruit in a blender, add alittle water, blend and put in a plastic bag, seal it, put it in frezzer, and you got fruit ice, very tasty, very easy, I use it to trick kids into eating fruit

don't buy fake meat, or fake beacon, waste of money, not good, unless you have to
