The normal blood sugars are from 60 to 120. Anything more or less than that is abnormal. Diabetes is a disease that deals with the balance of sugar in the bloodstream. When someone has a high sugar, he is not able to utilize it in the bloodstream. That is where insulin comes in. It is a door opener so to speak that lets the sugar into the blood stream so it can be utilized by the body for energy.Diabetics who take insulin but not enough food can have a hypoglycemic reaction. Which means they don't have enough sugar and perhaps too much insulin. He or she feels dizzy and is clammy and cold when a sugar is low. They need candy or something sweet right away followed by a high protein snack like crackers cheese and milk.
A high blood sugar the person is red in the face. He or she has increased hunger, thirst and urination. The body is attempting to get rid of extra sugar by increasing thirst and drinking water Hope this helps you.

The average blood sugar of a diabetic should be gotten over several days of testing.Blood sugar should be taken 30 an hour after getting up, before eating and 1 hour after eating, also 30 minutes before bed. this helps with a number of things. Finding out you're average blood sugar and finding out which foods affect you're blood sugar and in which ways. It also gives you a very wide basis's on which to get you're average. I know it is different for men or women and children are different all together. But please if you think there is a chance you might be diabetic please contact your doctor as soon as possible. I just lost my mother to complications of her diabetes. And know how hard it is to control after it is let go too long. And the damage an otherwise controllable illness can cause.

Well, by definition, the fasting glucose level of an untreated diabetic is going to be higher than 126, but if the person is well treated, it's possible that their blood sugar levels will not be higher than the levels of a nondiabetic.

What you need to know is what is a NORMAL blood sugar reading. That would be between 80 - 120. If you have readings higher than that several times, you could be diabetic. There are also other symptoms: constant thirst, uriniating a lot. If your sugar gets really high you would feel sick.
If you think you have a problem, I suggest that you go to see a doctor.

it can vary. But basically anything over 140. A non diabetic person should never test over 140. The normal range is 80 to 120 though.

The glucose level would be greater than 110 mg/dL.
The Normal Range is 60 - 110 mg/dL
If a person has a normal 165 mg/dL glucose level, then oh yeah, that person is diabetic.
