My dad is retiringin on April 1. I would like to throw him a party. He likes hawaiian themes and loves to go fishing. Are these good ideas? Do you have a better idea? We live in MI.

I think that would be really cute and especially fitting for a retirement theme. You know, if you check out a couple of wedding websites and research destination weddings, you'll come across tons of ideas. Try theknot.com and weddingchannel.com. The most valuable info I found personally was on the knot's message boards.

I think you have some good ideas but how about a theme from the year he started working from where he is going to retire? If it was the 70's then maybe a 70's theme, etc. Good luck to you and congrats to him on retirement!

Go with the retirement theme; it covers both Hawaiian and fishing and anything he wishes to do afterward.
