I gave blood like two months ago, and as we all know, they test for EVERYTHING. It stated that if i tested positve for anything, i would receive a letter, which i haven't. I was going to get tested for HIV just to be on the safe side, but since i didn't receive a letter, should i still?

Well I used to donate blood always on a regular schedule. I always received the letter that they mail anyway with the blood type. You should still get one of those, depending on where you live. If you are concerned, just call the place you donated blood and ask something along these lines...." I recently came in to donate blood and was told that I would receive a letter in the mail, more or less thanking me or any other information I might need to know, and I wanted to find out why I might not have received it or was that letter just to let people know if there blood could not be used" I mean say something like that, don't just call and be to blunt, but chances are they will say that you just didn't receive it because they only send it to people that their blood cannot be used. I wouldn't go and just get an HIV test. Or when you go in the next time to donate, ask the person doing it, what all they do to the blood once you donate, and just clarify with them, that you would only get a letter if there was a problem. If that makes sense, Good Luck though!

i recognize that once someone donates they are requested a sequence of questions about their well-being. in addition they demonstrate the blood. If someone is donating to a particular man or woman and it really is critical rapidly then they do the try on the time and bypass in protecting with note and that try and use it rapidly. In different circumstances i recognize they preserve a blood economic corporation and that i'd imagine that they use the older blood first and take a check out it lower back previously they use it. i really do not recognize for particular though because it isn't my container.

I took and aids peer educater class so maybe I can be of some help. If you are positive THEY WILL kNOCK ON YOUR DOOR!!! Be well aware of it. They cant risk getting infected blood so what they use to detect for aids is top f the line, so you can chill, but u should get tested and four months after get tested again because its a 4 month window period for AID's.

You are probably okay...
Just be careful in the future, why risk your life for any kind of sex? As a woman to woman, I know you know it just aint worth it...take care of yourself, you must be worth it if you are the kind of person who donates blood!!!!

I am confident you would have heard by now if there was an issue...please take care of you, be careful....

If you are unsure or have any doubt then get tested. What would it hurt? If it is negative you will be at peace, and if it is positive, at least you caught it before it goes any farther.
