In moderation it's unlikely to have any adverse effect. In excess alcohol might interfere with absorption of the drug from the gut. The antibiotics you definitely need to avoid alcohol with are metronidazole (Flagyl) and others like it such as tinidazole. These combine with alcohol to produce a very unpleasant reaction.

please try this, it is safe for you and the babies and will cure your sinus infection. best wishes. My husband uses this to keep from getting bronchitis, and I use to to cure sinus infections. THere are many kinds of bacteria that live in the sinuses, and this gets rid of all the bad ones!.This is the only thing that really helped me --- my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria. you need distilled water sea salt liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store. in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature. add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix. using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down. Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy. The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all. Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time. Then do it once a week for maintenance. There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me. I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore. best wishes

Well with all antibiotics, all it will do is cause them to be pretty much useless. Drinking while you are sick also lowers your immune system, by thinning out the blood and making it difficult for the white blood cells to also help fighting infection, just raises your chances of being sick longer, and feeling worse. Just don't drink while you are sick. Drinking shouldn't be that important. Drink lots of fluids and rest. And if you must drink, just stop taking your antibiotics the day of drinking and start up on the second dose on your next day, don't take the first. Good Luck and rest!

I don't think there's any drug interraction if that's what you're talking about. but I'd leave the alcohol alone if I were you. you're sick, and alcohol can cause you to become dehydrated especially when you're under the weather.
hope you feel better soon! and try some chicken noodle soup and a bottle of gatorade, it's good for you!
