It may have torn due to a lack of lubrication.
or it was to old or got to hot and to cold.
Throw out the entire package and buy new ones. Always check the date.
A little know fact is that condoms are only meant to be used for short term. Which means if you are going at it for a long time you can wear it out. Most guys last only about 7 minutes, I think condomes are only meant to be used for 15 minutes. Either way if you are going at it for a half hour get a new one.

Depending if its a proper relationship or a 'one night stand' you have 2 different tracks. Either one, I would opt for the morning after pill (Plan B) if you are not taking an oral controceptive. If its the first situation and you trust your partner, it shouldn't be a big deal. If its the later, it doesn't hurt to go to a doctor to see if you are a candidate for prophalactic antibiotics. Unfortunately there is still no cure or good prevention for AIDS, herpes, genital warts, and a few others. Abstinance is what prevents those.

If the condom breaks have her go to Planned Parenthood to get the morning-after pill ("Plan B")-after all, you don't want to have a baby do you?
If you don't have a local planned parenthood call around a gynecologist to see if they offer it or have a resource for someone who does.

There is the possibility of pregnancy along with STD's. Make sure you get tested, right away.

it means there's a fifty-fifty chance that you're going to be a parent. and the odds are the same for getting a sexually transmitted disease.
