I'm a nurse. They are equally bad. A stroke can leave a person in a vegetable state in worse cases. The heart attack can give a patient severe pain and even death. I think maybe it would be worse to be alive after a stoke and have to learn simple things all over again.

They can both be horrible. There are new medications out now that can "dissolve clots that cause strokes" Strokes are the most disabling but a heart attack can lead to a stroke. A heart attack is essentially a blood clot in the heart. A stroke is essentially a blood clot in the brain. Or a burst vessel in the brain. Getting help immediately when either is suspected is the key to a safer recovery.

That's sort of saying what's worse, being stabbed or being shot, it depends. There are small heart attacks that you don't even notice when you're having, and there are heart attacks that are instantly fatal, and pretty much the same can be said for strokes, so it really depends on the severity of the heart attack or stroke, it's impossible to tell you as a blanket term that one is worse than the other.
