Big diet change needed, hon :)

Acid-forming Foods: alcohol, asparagus, beans, brussels sprouts, chickpeas, cocoa, coffee, eggs, fish, white flour and its products, legumes, meat including organs, milk, mustard, oats, olives, pepper, plums, poultry, prunes, shellfish, soft drinks (sodas), sugar and its products, tea, and vinegar. Also acid-forming are most drugs (prescription and recreational), and tobacco.

Alkaline-forming foods (eat lots of these!!) - Avocados, corn, dates, fresh coconut, most fruits and vegetables (citrus are alkaline-forming too), honey, maple syrup, molasses, raisins, sea vegetables and soy beans and their products.

Almost neutral foods - buckwheat, butter, canned fruit, cheese, chestnuts, dried fruit (mostly), grains (mostly), ice cream, lima beans, millet, seeds and nuts (mostly).

The ultimate alkaline food is the umeboshi plum. Pronounced "oo-may-boshi", these salty and sour plums from Japan are highly alkaline and antibiotic. They also ease digestive complaints including diarrhoea, dysentry and indigestion, stoke, food poisoning, constipation, too much or too little stomach acid, motion sickness, and headache.
They can be hard to find. I've only found them in one health food store in the city, but someone should be able to order them in for you.

The changes will be gradual, start with your food habits. Avoid oily food, junk food.

Have your dinner at least 2-3 hours before your sleeping time. Don't lie down immediately after eating any meals.

Instead of heavy meals, have small regular meals.

Last but not the least, start walking. Take early morning brisk walks.

Take ayurvedic powder avipatikar. One spoon in palin water morning and night on empty stomach for ten days. Afterwards take only once a day for another ten days then stop and see. Drink 2 to 3 litres of water per day.

In fact, acidity has other names also, e.g. heartburn,
GERD - Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease and has
different stages and the most serious stage converts into
life threating disease, i.e. esophagus cancer. I have
myself suffered with this disease for over a decade. Even
if I had taken medicine but it gave me temporary relief. A
few months before, incidentally, I started eating raw onions with my dinner meals and it gave me magic
solution. I started feeling good and acidity completely
disappeared. Before, after every dinner I used to walk
for 30 to 60 minutes but still I used to get serious acidity
problem but now I generally do not walk after dinner. Acidity is, in fact, due to the heavy dinner we eat and w/o
digestion, we go to bad. At night we should eat light dinner, In conclusion, about 2-3 weeks before, I red in
Hindustan Times that onions can help eradicating esophagus cancer. I strongly recommend u to eat raw
onions during dinner and u will soon find that ur acidity
disappears. Since one is mostly out on work, I have suggested raw onions during dinner. As raw onion has its own smell, the best time for consuming onion will be
night only. If you can cure ur acidity with onions, I

drink cold milk the first thing in morning. repeat it after every 2 -3hours. half a glass of cold milk thrice a day will do wonders for you. and please don't remain empty stomach for a long time. avoid junk food and aerated drinks.

take less oily foods and always take one cup of chilled milk after breakfast....also avoid sour foods...myself hve the same problem

use ,omeprzole tablet early morning

or take salad mostly

take grains

first take some antacids,
avoid much oily foods,
omiprazole can also help...
