Two parts to your question. Regarding the origin of aids, I am sure you can find information on the internet regarding the history of aids. I know there are various theories regarding its origin and spread.
From a logic question the origin of any virus or certain types of disease can be questioned, if it did not exist at one time, where did it first exist. For example viruses can and do evolve by mutating, moving between hosts, etc.
For example certain types of flu are "new", like the bird flu.

OK... here it goes.

i dont know if you know, but it was a virus that started off in monkeys. When the monkeys where being exterminated, it was transmitted to humans through the blood and then transformed (viruses can adapt)

HIV hooks on to a cell, and while the cell is reproducing the virus put its RNA on the host. (to keep it simple) HIV can hook on one cell and produce a million copies of itself.

the reason it may not be detected for some number of years (up to 10 or so) is because the bodies t-cells does a great job keeping the virus under control. but because HIV is produced so rapidly, your t-cells eventually will fatigue, and the HIV will then cause AIDS Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

the key words immune deficiency- you body's immunity is no longer working because there is too much of the virus in the body for it to keep up

you CANT transmit AIDS- that happends when there's too much of it. You CAN transmit HIV

I hope that helped!

it is a virus it would have mutated from another virus which was already in circulation. Sure we can go back to the first virus and say how did that form from protein strands etc all the way back to the ameoba. Although a virus isn't even as developed as a single cell. a virus can fit inside a cell like a piece of it and attach to the cell like a parasite.
