How many of you have gotten tested? How many of you are scared to get tested? How many of you have had unprotected sex and now you drive yourself crazy thinking, "what if?" or "no i cant have it" , how many of you are going through this? Be honest. I am here to tell you that you should get tested. Anyone who has ever had unprotected sex should be tested.............. I was just tested on last friday, (it was NEGATIVE, it only took 20 minutes) & there is nothing like having peace of mind. I was tested not because i was promiscous but just because im a hypochondriac at times, and i just like to know everything is fine, This is the second time i have gotten an HIV test, last one i took was 3 years ago. but I wish people would get tested, because it really does empower to know your status. Anyways if u would like to share your experiences to help others it'd be nice 2 hear your stories. Anyone like 2 share? Good luck 2 everyone. Ignorance is not bliss! ignorance can kill

For Ethan H...... yes, you can go to any plan parenthood clinic, and they have anonymous testing here is the website.... http://www.plannedparenthood.org/ and by the way ethan you are still pretty young, so your chances are pretty low, if you do chose to have sex ALWAYS wear a condom, or dont have any SEX at all, that is the safest way ;)

Just wanted to add, yes it is very scary, because its either YES u have it or NO u dont have it, but either way you are not alone , get the courage to do it, God Bless, and for anyone who has something negative to say, like "thats what happens when you sleep around" or "thats what you get for being gay" u should be careful with your words, you never know what events could happen in your life, and you will be wishing you were a bit kinder with your words...

Totally agree on that "piece of mind" stuff, the 10 days of waiting for the results felt like 10 yrs, i couldn't even sleep well. I believe you should get tested if you've had more than 1 partner, AIDs is never about you alone, it'll impact everyone around you.

The long version... I'm a water junky, drink a liter or so after I'm in bed watching TV.. so lately I am up twice "going" in the night. Bad sign I am told, so I had a routine prostate blood workup checking for the big C, when the nurse asked, you want an HIV sceen too?? Uh... hell.. while you got my blood do it ALL... Sure!
So I ended up with screening for Syphilis, HIV, prostate, Hemoglobin, HDL/LDL, TB, and malaria. All negative... not a great surprise because to have a STD you first have to have the "S". I live alone in a remote cabin in the wilderness and my only libidinous recreation is watching the deer run for the safety of the creek when they hear my zipper in the morning.
Anyway, with all that proof now of moral cleanliness, who can I tell??

I think it is great that you got tested, and I agree with you 100% that anyone who is sexually active should be tested. I have been tested multiple times over the years(a few of those times were after receiving a needle stick while performing venipuncture). I also insisted that my partner be tested before starting a sexual relationship with him. I was fair though and offered to show him my test results when he showed me his.
Women especially have to stop being so ignorant to the fact that they can contract HIV. It seems so many people still have the misconception that it something only gays get. Wake up people... IT IS NOT A GAY'S ONLY DISEASE!

Yes I got tested for the first time this summer and was negative! However, my results were lost on someones desk and I got the results back in 3 weeks, not 2. this really messed me up emotionally. It was worth it to know.
