On a White Bed Sheet, paint or draw a picture of a famous building or place in Italy. Give it some color. Hang it up on a wall, people can take their picture in front of it. My mom did that for a party once. She painted the leaning tower of Pizza. It was cool. Cook authentic recipes for every one. Make mixed drinks, or drink wines. Put up lights, and favors with alot of colors. The flag colors are okay. Give out party favors that have some Italian design on it, or something to that effect.
Play music by Italian singers. Or get a few performers, who know dances from Italy, and play Italian music.
Make the party fun, and lively.

There is no way that you could go wrong with spaghetti for an Italian party. Everyone likes spaghetti! Also bread sticks and salad. Red wine is always good with pasta and a favorite Italian wine.

Good luck with your party!

We did a round robin once that was a blast. We had wine and crusty bread, cheese at one house, then salad and antipasto at the next. Our third house was the main course but since that husband/wife were taking italian lessons they had us each order (up to 3 items each) everything (they had about 4 diff. dishes) ..this included the silverware and bowl, plate, napkin, etc. This was hysterical as we got literally what we ordered brought out to us (sometimes in paper cups we had to tip to our mouth if we didn't 'order' a bowl or spoon) Afterwards we all got to go to the kitchen to sample anything we hadn't tried yet. lastly we went to the last house for some italian pastries, cheesecake and coffee. It was fun and a way to get everyone involved.

It may be fun to give unusual dry pastas as gifts, attach a recipe to the package. Or perhaps some very nice olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping bread. Italian music CD's would be enjoyed. I would look in bargain stores (or second hand) for chunky Italian looking dishware for the table. Lots and lots of candles surrounded by grape clusters and colorful cloth napkins tucked into the wine glasses.

Rent casino games. Many Casino party suppliers have home party packages for less than $1000 and they include dealers.

Easy prep food -
Frozen lasagne (can't beat home made, but it's alot easier)
Bagged salad
Baked ziti and sausage
Breadsticks
Shrimp in garlic butter

Red wine, plates of grapes, strawberries and cut melon.
