Ok Im going to break from the other answers just a bit... it is true that there is no way that you can contract HIV from a toilet seat.... It IS possible though highly unlikely that you could get something like Hep B, say if the seat were covered in Hep B blood and you had say an open wound. I guess you could get crabs too, but even that is a stretch.

I've heard of people getting crabs from a toilet but pretty much any other std you can't really get. Try using seat covers when you can.

only if you didn't let the other person get up first...LOL
seriously...it is possible if the area on the toilet seat were wet (like a spot of blood or body fluids) and you sat down on the area with some broken skin, (like a pimple) and the wet spot seeped into your skin...if the area were dry, then no.
not 100%, but I am sure that there has been a few reported cases of STD transmission that way

IF IT'S WET OR STICKY...THEN IT'S ICKY! This is some excellent advice I was given while working in the medical field. Some say it's possible some say it's not. I don't trust it, I squat if possible, but I usually carry disinfecting spray and wipes with me in my purse.

No. The bacteria that cause those diseases cannot live outside the body for long enough to infect a person.
