I found this recipe for a linguine dish with italian sausage and shrimp from cooks.com

Italian sausage
1 lb. shrimp
1 stick butter
olive oil
green onions
garlic
salt and pepper
1 lb. linguine or spaghetti
broccoli (optional)

I ate a linguine with clams and clam sauce with a tomato at Buca before, it was a frutti linguine. I guess I need opinions on would it taste right in this dish ^above^?

Try putting room temperature ( ripe ) tomato's in a blender ....not fine ....course is really better .....
Wait to put the tomato blend on just as you serve the piping hot pasta ....
If you love fresh garlic , put a well ( seperately blended fine mix ) of garlic in with the tomato blend.....
Don't forget a great wine !!!!!!!!!!!
WOW ! You'll think you're in Rome !
P.S. I'd forgo normal broccoli ....unless it's brocolini ....( tiny version ) If your grocer dosn't have fresh brocolini my advise is , leave it out.....
ok , so when should I be there ?

It's Italian. You can use anything that you have as Italian food was born out of poverty and a sense of playful exploration with ingredients. Tomato would be good in this dish, but use a fresh tomato that is cut up and drained to avoid adding too much liquid into the dish

I'd add the tomatoes (peeled, seeded and chopped) plus a touch of horseradish sauce and lemon juice. Being me, I'd toss in some capers and olives, but forget the broccoli and the sausage.

Then I'd serve it with a green salad and a bottle of well chilled champagne!

I think a fresh diced tomato or two would be delicious in that.
