My darling, that is the first thing you should have done before sleeping with someone without protection. If someone i've just met tries to sleep with me without protection,i'll assume thats what he or she does all the time and therefore the chances are high that they have an std.On the other hand,if you did use protection and you are wondering whether you can do without, then just blurt it out, live and direct 'have you had an sti screen lately'?Or,'have you always practised safe sex'?Or better still,'I want us to do without condoms, why don't we both go for an std test?'And see what they say.So ,my darling,i dont think there is a veiled way of asking these things, you just have to be calm, poised and direct, afterall,we're talking about your health and well-being here.

No easy way to ask this question. But, if you are close enough to have sex, then you should be close enough to have this talk. Just do it -- and do it while both of your clothes are still on.

FYI -- for the future, it's in your best interest to have this talk BEFORE you start having sex with a person. It's a little late to ask after the deed is done.

if someone has had std's before and has gotten cured, i don't think it's something i want to ask about. but HIV is something different. I think you have a right to ask about that. good luck finding a good way, though. it is always an awkward question, so i guess you should just go for it, ask it anyway you can.

Forgive the phrase but do not beat around the bush. Ask him. Preface it with "I have a personal question for you." Then ask away. Only an immature jerk would be offended or refuse to answer, in that case your next question should be"Whats the best way to leave my dangerous and immature boyfriend". Be well.

YOU: " Have you now or ever been afflicted by an STD? Are you actively burning @ this moment?" If they, in turn, respond,"What?" or "Huh? ", it is your duty to exit...Of course, by the time you are in the position to get the job done, you should have run an interrogation so that you would not be up here posting this ? AFTER THE DEED IS DONE.

Should have been asked before the sex started, but better late than never. Ask him!

Oh, I ask straight out, don't really care if I'm rude, but got to know. Usually the guy is just laughing.

That is something that should have been asked prior to sex. If you are comfortable enough to have sex with someone you should be comfortable enough to ask that question---for both of your healths. You both should be open with eachother.
