It amazes me how many people give incorrect information on here. Diabetics CAN donate blood if their blood sugars are under control. I've done it. I am a type 1 diabetic. If you don't believe me, here is the link from the American Red Cross web page.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I'm a diabetic myself for about 3years now.

YES you can donate blood. I donated blood for my son's major surgery 11/06. The nurse said that was alright.

Definately diabetic patients can donate blood to any other patient of their respective blood group.
There is no contraindication of blood donation by diabetic provided they are fit for donation and have no disorders or disease which are contraindications for donation like hiv, hepatitis, etc.
Its absolutely safe to transfuse AB And Rh compatible blood of diabetic to a non diabetic

As far as I know NO...but it depends what for? I have diabetes and I'm not able to donate blood to anyone esp. a blood bank...I could donate my blood for myself like prior to surgery but other than that since getting my diabetes I haven't been able to donate blood. There's many other factors for blood donating also including-meds and other conditions etc...

Apparently diabetics can donate blood if they meet this requirement:

Diabetes: can donate if treatment is by diet control and condition is stable; defer donation if on medication

I thought you couldn't but apparently you can but you need to declare that to the donee/hospital BEFORE you donate. I guess glucose blood is better than no blood in the bank.
