Happy New Years, may this new year, bring you and yours, the best of health, love and happiness. My questions are,why is it that sometimes, people really try to help others, are looked down at.As if we were scam, artist,or what ever,on what,do you, base yourselfs on?If it is not this site or that site,it must be a scam,if you went thru,so much trouble,to just post the answer, why not post it the the web. Some of us are really new at this, have a heart.Did any of you do,your research ?If you would have, you would have found, that the site is real, the information is true and informitive to the letter.Plus, exstreamly helpful, and no strings attached, except for a jester of good will,is that not why, were are all here? Now if any of you out there, with the scam, comments, would like to explain to me, how to post what ever,i needed, posted on the web,as put by some of you, than please do,the site that i was refearing to was http://www.medtronic.com/UK/health/diabetes/therapy_options.html

I very much agree with you; I've seen some very bizarre statements on the health forums and because type 1 diabetes runs in my family I get especially upset with some of the statements made about it. I do as much research as I can into any answer that I give or else answer about what has worked best with me or a family member.
But honestly what it all comes down to is that a person has to use a certain amount of common sense when looking for answers here and remember that the people answering are rarely trained professionals. This isn't the right place to ask for a diagnosis or answers to serious life and death questions, only a doctor can do that. But it's a good place to get input from others with similar experiences or just some support.

I agree with you that on a health forum it is down right dangerous to post incorrect information.
We need to remember that those consistently posting things like " You can die from a blood sugar of 200" or" alcohol raised your blood sugar" are dangerous.
Don't believe anything you hear here until you verify it with a doctor or other source.
If your Grandmother had diabetes , you are not a good source of information. Her care is very different from the care of today.
People who believe that there is one way to care for diabetes are wrong.Care these days is customized for the individual.So.. because they don't eat whatever , doesn't me I can't.
Those of us who have dealt with diabetes for years mostly know what we are doing.
There should be a moderator for the medical forums of Yahoo Answers.

I agree. Its frightening some of the answers I've seen in the health forum. Some don't care so they write spam answers.
I try not to answer a question unless I have a book right here to answer it or I'm sure I know the answer.
I commend you for looking up a website.
