It could be an STD (syphilis comes to mind). At night she may be scratching herself (morgellon's disease). I recommend a lotion that is 2 parts neem, 2 parts coconut oil, a pinch of turmeric, and just enough bees wax to make it firm.

always go to the doctor for sure because scabs can be A LOT of different things, but actually I think i know what it is.
It may be an allergy. Did she wear anything with nickel in it? bisters can occure from that and can be cured with Cortisone.
but here what it may be.
Has this happened more than once?
has hema had the chicken pox?
Here is a little tougher question: are the scabs along specific isolated places?
because believe it of not, a strand of herpes is chicken pox, and sometimes chicken pox can stay permanently in your body. like other forms of herpes it can flare up during stress or a weakened immune system, for example from a flu.
these flare ups are called "shingles". the virus lives within nerves so when they appear its usually along major nerves in the body. Some people get it on their backs and others along their chest or forehead. It can be treated with the same treatment as other strands of herpes, with Valtrex.
Its not life threatening if shingles is whats the problem, just a really annoying condition when the flares occur, however, try not to touch it because it can be spread.
hopefully that helped with your concern. but like i said, dont take it from a bunch of people on the internet, just go to the doctor- they know more about a lot more conditions that i do.

Has considered the possibility of Scabies? Pimple-like irritations, intense itching especially at night, sores on the body from itching are all common signs of scabies, it can become very serious due to bacteria getting into the scratches. Tell her to try and not scratch as this can be harmful, go see a DR. or a clinician and try cold compresses on the really itchy spots. Hope this helps.

on her arms? now how could that be an STD? sounds like a crazy skin infection or something. tell her to go see a doc. might be allergic reactions to something. it can't be a real 'scab' unless she has scratched the skin to be open. it might be a boil or something. i can't say for sure without seeing it.
