There is nothing to justify. Everything lives off something else. People are designed to be omnivorous; if we weren’t designed to eat meat we couldn’t eat it. (yes I can prove it, its long and boring but I can if you wish).
But to deny that fact the people are omnivorous is stupid, we are what we are. Does that mean you can’t choose not to eat meat, no, of course not, but does that make people who eat meat evil, no. It’s a lifestyle choice, you chose not to eat meat, I choose too.
Here something to think about, at one point in our evolution, there were two types of man like apes, one ate plants the other was an omnivore, the plant eater died out, while the omnivore evolved into Homo sapiens. Our nature is to eat just about everything, plants and animals.
Now do most people in the US eat too much meat, yes, most people in the US eat too much of everything.
Yes, I’ve seen the PETA video, many times, I’ve also seen videos of lions bring a zebra and start eating it while it was still alive. Neither one bothers me, do I think animals we kill for food should be killed as quickly as possible, yes. Should they be treated humanely, yes.
But you sound like a nice person, and probably feel that animals have rights. They don’t. Think of it this way. If animals have rights, then the must respect the rights of all other animals, so when a tiger kills another animal it is committing murder and is subject to the law of the land for violating the rights of the other animal. And just how are you going to feed a tiger and not violate the rights of another animal and where are you going to build all the animal jails.
Just something to think about.

Unless they have a serious medical issue that prevents them from being vegetarian or vegan, there's really not a good reason. There was a question on here posted by someone who was doing a report on the pros and cons of vegetarianism, and she came on here asking for CONS, because absolutely NONE of the resources online or at the library said anything bad about it. That's tellin ya somethin! ;)
P.S. - Even if they DID bring religion into it, I have Bible verses and explanations galore that prove otherwise! lol, I'm a strong Christian myself but I know the deal!

your right, animals can feel pain like us they have feelings too.
i was raised on meat, but until i was exposed to the horrors of factory farms.....
a few people that i try to share the vegie view point with have selective hearing (found that out the hard way), they only hear and think what they want to. their hard headed, that's what (just saying some of my friends are, not you people....i don't even know you people, lol).
i guess it takes willingness to give up meat.

It is supposedly better for asthma and arthritis patients. It decreases the acidity of urine which reduces kidney stones. It is also higher in fibre (better for intestines) and vegs usually have lower cholesterol so heart disease patients often reduce meat consumption.

dont get me wrong, i mean, my best m8 is a veggie and we're both great animal lovers, but if you think about it, humans are not the only ones who eat meat.
wild animals, like tigers, wolves and loads loads more, eat meat to survive.
if everyone became a veggie, we would have to kill all the farm animals like pigs and cows to make room for crops, because vegitables dont give as much engergy as meat.
i ant got anything against vegeterians, ive even thought about being one once or twice
happy new year to you too :)

my brother says it's tastes good, even though he never tried to eat vegg, he eats my vegan food all the time, he's eating out of my plate and loves it, but still will not give up meat,.
when I tell him it's unhealthy to eat meat, he tells me to shut the hell up, when I tell him to look up the animal abouse on this site
http://goveg.com/
he tells me he will never look at it because he doesn't have to
so I think it falls into ingronce, selfish, stupid, and retarted when they do things the wrong way, I can't do anything except live by example, and cook kick azz vegg food, so maybe people will convert just by eating my good food.
