Dry land. Like Arizona

An arid climate. But where depends. If you, like many asthmatics, have allergies, you need to avoid whatever it is that you are allergic to. Another thing to consider is this. A lot of people moved to the Phoenix area 20-30 years ago for the climate, and it use to be heralded as the best place to live for people with asthma; however, the air pollution there is quite bad now due to the all the people living there. I doubt the wisdom of living in high country, where the oxygen content in the air is lower. Good luck.

A dry climate, like Arizona.

Asthma is caused by a building up of mucus in the lungs. It is normal to have mucus there, it helps to lubricate them, but a lot of it can be a problem. This is what makes the flu, phenomena, bad colds, or asthma bad.

Clearly, any climate that reduces your exposure to allergies will also help. I would see a doctor and try to find out what you are allergic to, and avoid those allergens.

Places like Arizona don't have a lot of pollen producing plants and the climate is dry enough to dry out the mucus in the lungs so it can be easily expelled by the body.

Once you find out what you are allergic to then you can find a place in the Southwest where it would be good to live. Regardless, you want a dry climate.

I live in San Diego now and my symptoms are not nearly as bad as they used to be ( I'm from N.J.). You want to be in an area that's not too humid, and doesn't get very cold because both humidity and cold aggravate asthma. Being near the ocean helps, on the west coast it's cooler than the eastern shore area.

Less humidity. Low mold, pollen, and ragweed areas. These things are known allergens that trigger asthma like symptoms.

A dry climate. More '****' is in the air (mold spores, etc) in a humid environment. It makes sense: ALL things grow better in a humid environment.

If you are in the U.S. you would be best off in the west. The mountain air in Colorado is fresh, mild and dry. NE, AZ, NM too. I would recommend the view in CO, though!
