Chitterlings, I guess your meaning. Go out in the back yard, take your chittlins(sic) and get a garden hose and force water through them for about a day and a half, take them into the kitchen(make sure nobody else is going to be there for a few days) get a big pot and fill with enough water to cover the hog guts and put on to boil. Boil for a while then dump water out and refill and boil some more, till tender. Drain, pat dry then fry. Then go to McDonalds and get you a combo 'cause those chittlins(sic) ain't fit for human consumption!

This is not a joke, this is what you really do.
1) Take a stick and turn them inside out.
2) Wash thoroughly, about 3 or 4 times, change the water everytime.
3) Boil in water until tender.
4) Saute in oil, some say fry"not deep fry".
Or go to bigmamasrecipes.com and type in "Chittlins".

chittlins..

You have to soak them in vinegar. While they are soaking .. our family tradition is to stomp them like grapes.
Grampa used to love to cut his toenails afterwards while Grandma was cooking them up.
The vinegar and chittlins took the extra skin off his feet and softened the nails.

Happy New Year!

It's best to clean them in a sink. Let them soak in cool water for about 30 minutes-this loosens everything, rinse them individually. Place them in another water bath on the opposite side of the sink with two cups of vinegar, it acts as a natural germicide b/c its acidic, let them soak about 10 minutes, rub them and rinse them.

Place in a Boiler over the stove, adding celery, onions, bell peppers, seasoned salt, black pepper, 1 clove of garlic.***Warning*** THEY STINK TO HIGH HEAVEN, the seasoning cuts the odor very little. Bring them to a boil over really high heat for about 15 minutes(stirring occasionally), this kills any virulent bacteria that may be left in them. Whip out the crock-pot, pour them in, cook on high for about 6 hours. You can leave them on the stove, and cook them on medium-high heat for about 3hours.

I like to cook them in a crock-pot, because I can sit them outside and let it pollute the air there (hopefully you have an outlet outside)!!They shrivel up really tight when they are done.
