Boils are usually self limiting.. You dont want to take antibiotics for everything you have. It lowers your seceptability. Let your own immune system clear it up.
If it starts to look infected, then perhaps it needs to be cultured and then a antibiotic can be prescribed for you.

Yes, a doctor can certainly prescribe antibiotics if required for prophylaxis for dental procedures (but your dentist most likely can as well, at least, they can here, I don't know about the law in England). Many doctors would do this for a patient they know well, often without requiring an appointment, though they are not required to do so. If your doctor does not know you well, or it's a new doctor, then he probably will not, and should not, prescribe anything without first checking you. So the answer is yet, at the doctor's discression.

I would clean my face with seabreeze or witch-hazel, drink lots of water and stay away from chocolate and greasy foods. If this gets worse and you start running a temperature you may have an infected facial hair and need medical attention.
