ok now this assuming you are not alergic and you can drink safely a hot tardy which liqur in it. hot tea gren is better for the antioxcidents in it. honey to sweten and lemon for the vitamin c or take a chewable c vitamin. add a shot of brandy any kind will do you like to tea. drink it amd make sure you inhale the steam nice n hot as you drink it so your nose is inhaling the steam. get into bed cover up with all your blankets and stay covered no matter how hot you feel. this helps to break up your cold and next morning you should feel much better. now hopefully you are not using an antihistamine to dry up your phelm as this only is going to cause your phelm to thicken and not come to cough out!! use only robotussin plain (gufasine ) wrong spellin sure but only this ingredient and it will alow the phelm to rise up and to remain fluid to be coughed up and out to free up you r lungs. now if you feel up to a nice hot shower before do so to use the steam to help and a humiderfyer in the room you sleep in is a big help to reduce and eliminate phelm as well.

For bad congestion and phlegm, I recommend mucinex. It's a little pricey, but it works great. Hope you feel better soon.

You might have strep throat. Are you having any trouble swallowing when you eat? Generally, sore throats are caused by a viral infection and not strep bacteria. You need to get lots of sleep. Get to the doctor soon. Hope you feel better!
