I have an awful cough. I havn't slept well for the past 3 nights. I've tired Nyquil and another kind of cough medicine but nothing is working well. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm hoping to feel at least a little better by new years tonight.

I have no other symtoms. No fevor. No green flem. I'm thinking it's a sinus drip or something like that.

Grate about 1cm of fresh root ginger into a cup, add a spoon of honey and then pour on boiling water. Allow to cool for a while and then drink. The ginger has a natural anti-bactericide and the honey soothes. Works well for colds as well if you add some lemon juice. Has never failed for me. Over the counter.. Try Cough Nurse. Really good for those horrible, tickly coughs that keep you awake.

I do know that Delsym is supposed to work for 8-12 hours.
Have you tried sleeping with a humidifier running?
Prop your head up on a pillow, too.
