I've been taking rhodiola for a few weeks now and it seems to be working. Our local herbal medicine-man recommended it as I wasnt sure if I was depresssed, stressed or suffering from menopause. or possible all 3!!!
anyway, I've looked it up for you and if you follow the link below you will be able to read about it for yourself.
For me, it's worked better than St John's Wort, which didnt seem to be doing anything for me.
As well as taking stuff, I suggest you get someone to talk through with you the cause of the stress and how you can tackle it by adopting strategies - eg a work consultant is helping me with my work related stressors.
good luck and happy (and stressless) new year to you.

Evening primrose capsules are good for mood swings.
But the best thing is to identify what it is that is stressing you out and see what you can do to change the situation. If you treat a symptom, the problem goes merrily on. Hate your job? Try to find something else, something different...look for on-the-job training if necessary.
Relationship trouble? Be honest with yourself and others. Work through problems, face your reality and work with what you have. There may be a friendship whose time has come, or a relationship you have grown out of. Be brave, and move on in a positive way.
Depression? Get some professional help. Medication may not be the answer, but talking to someone, going through your options can be very positive. They're not paid to judge; they are paid to help you think through your situation.
Take some me-time every day; do something that is just for you. It can be as simple as a good walk in the fresh air, a coffee at your favourite cappuchino bar, or a long, hot bath with some music on the stereo.
Make new friends. Intimidating at first, but it can be done. Sign up for a class in something you've always wanted to learn, whether it's French, ceramics or home plumbing! You'll get a new skill and meet some new people.

The minute you feel stressed go for a walk, whether it is raining, snowing [ mmm that i like] and just look around you. Think of other people that are worse off and thank your lucky stars you are not in their position, that is what i do. Stress kills , i also find using Yahoo Questions and Answers takes my mind of my own problems. I wish you a Very Happy New Year , just chill and don't allow others to stress you out. OK??

I find natural products very good for handling stress. Check up www.aloedistributor.com All the products are made from Aloe Vera. You would find the drinks most suitable for stress, but the bee pollen might suit you too, and the Artic Sea.
Good luck and a very Happy New Year to you.

It's not an OTC medicine, but get a punchbag or some exercise weights. Have a good vigourous workout, get a serious puff and sweat on. By the time you've finished showering afterwards you'll be as right as rain.
Cheers.

Best stress relievers are laughter and exercise - sounds trite but believe me it works - its the body's natural way to make you feel better. Go for a brisk walk then watch a good comedy or talk to friends - lots of feel-good chemicals are released in the brain. Try it - but be warned its addictive!

Calms or st. john's wort are supposed to be good, but exercise for me is the best remedy.
