Anyone can enter their tabernacles. It's their temples that can only be visited by card carrying (and in good standing) Mormons. They don't ask for identification when entering the temple, because entering the temple is a big ordeal and each entrance is planned prior to its happening. When they enter, everyone who is supposed to be there is known by others.
Sincerely,
Chris

Anyone can enter a mormon church and are more than welcome to do so. True that only mormons can enter the temples. Chris' explanation pretty much covers letting people in to the temple. I do know that when temples are first built, they have had an "open house" so to speak, so the non-mormons can get an idea of what the temple is and reassure themselves that the mormons are not actually performing strange rituals like cutting ox feet off the animal or any of the other crazy ones I have heard.

True, only interviewed, worthy members of the Church can enter a temple. There is however a waiting room for those who have family who are not LDS. There they can talk to temple representatives, and enjoy the peace of the temple. There is also an information centre at each temple, where the public can get information on the temple. The public are also aloud to respectfully and peacefully allowed to walk the temple grounds. Here are some quotes from the lds.org. I hope this answers some questions.
1)'What is the purpose of the temple?
To members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the temple is the "House of the Lord." It is a sacred building, and after its dedication only faithful members of the Church may enter. Inside, members learn more about the purpose of life and make covenants to serve Jesus Christ and their fellow man. In addition, they participate in religious ceremonies that reach beyond mortality, such as baptisms on behalf of deceased ancestors and eternal marriage.'
2)'What is it like inside the temple?
Many people are under the impression that the interior of a Latter-day Saint temple is like a great hall or cathedral. Actually, temples are made up of a number of rooms designed to accommodate certain functions such as marriages, baptisms and instructional sessions. Inside the temple, Church members change into simple, modest white clothing previous to performing their temple labors. The white temple clothing is symbolic of purity and reverence.'
3)'Will members of the public ever see the inside of the temple?
Yes. After the temple is completed, there will be an organized open house (typically multiday) for the general public. During the open house, information will be provided to explain the different functions and ceremonies performed in the temple and answer questions. After the open house, the temple will be dedicated to the Lord and open only to worthy Church members.'
4)'What is the difference between a temple and a meetinghouse?
Regular Sunday worship, instruction and other social and recreational activities occur in Latter-day Saint meetinghouses, or chapels. In temples, on the other hand, faithful members receive specific instruction about the purpose of life and their relationship to God. There they take part in family-oriented ordinances, both for themselves and in behalf of deceased ancestors. Sacred ordinances available only in temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.'
*Just as a last note. ANYONE is welcome to attend any church services or church activities at anytime. There are also missionaries in your area, that can answer questions for you. They will even attend meetings with you.
-and worthy temple attenders have appointments made ahead of time. The people there already know who is coming and when.

All Mormons are tattooed with a bar code that can be checked with a scanner at the door of the temple.

the large Christian hundreds are consistently searching for actual evidence to help their various ideals. They greater often than not turn to interpretations of the bible for their help. regrettably, the bible is very imprecise on many Christian information. the issue is that the information compiled in the bible weren't extremely written to us. i think that the hand of God replaced into in contact in protecting the information, even nonetheless, almost all the bible writers weren't thinking people who lived 2000 plus years from their time. So we are like human beings listening in on a converstation between peoples whose journey and archives of religion is genuinely unrelated to ours. How will we then evaluate the bible to be the authoritative handbook on Christianity? Is it with the aid of fact it incredibly is all we've? If this is our paradigm, then we ought to desires make the bible greater healthful into that paradigm. with the aid of fact the bibles vagueness turns Christianity right into a secret, then we ought to assume that God intends for Christianity to be a secret, a puzzle to be taken care of out. And if we are fortunate, we are able to get it actual and locate salvation. yet on condition that there's no surity, we ought to recollect upon the concensus of the lots. The Mormons do no longer think of this manner. Like different religions, they suspect that Mormonism fits completely with the bible. even nonetheless, their doctrine isn't dervied from the bible yet from persevering with revelation from God. This creates a undertaking the place there are a number of Mormon doctrines that are hinted at in the bible yet no longer supported o.k.. collectively with baptism for the lifeless. So the place do Mormons get the religion to maintain on with doctrines that are opposite to prevalent opinion yet are complicated to verify from the information of lifeless prophets? the answer to this is that Mormons turn to private revelation from God. people who have not experienced this, in simple terms evaluate Mormons as being concepts washed. yet people who've experienced useful own revelation be attentive to the convincing power of it. own revelation isn't a determination it extremely is made after lots sorting via evidence. this is an on the spot and undeniable infusion of light and archives right into a persons' soul. The scriptures describe it with the aid of fact the eyes of our be attentive to-how have been opened. a individual who has gained revelation will possibly no longer have the skill to instruct something on condition that faith is a private journey. in no way the fewer, they are able to assert that they be attentive to.
