Sometimes your doctor can intervene with your insurance company to get them to cover it for certain illnesses. You might also ask your doctor for samples. Your church may have a fund to help people in your situation or try Catholic Charities.

Also, ask your pharmacist if they know of a program that will assist with the cost. Never be embarrassed to ask for the help you need. The worst that could happen is someone says "no" so give it a try.

Hope you feel better soon.

Peace be with you!

Pharmacies don't advertise this, but they can fill partial prescriptions. Say you have a prescription for a 30 day supply, but only have enough money to get 10 days worth at that time. The pharmacy can hold the remainder on file, and you can fill it later. Another avenue is often doctor's offices have samples they are given by the pharmaceutical reps to encourage the doctor's to prescribe their products. I would ask your physician if he/she has any samples they can provide you with, and that could help as well.

Wal-Mart prescriptions only cost about $5 even w/o insurance (except for a few things like inhalers). Try getting medicare if that doesn't work or go to your doctor and see if there's a combination of cheaper pills that could work instead.
Also, try a detoxification program. The toxins that get in our bodies through the water we shower in and the food preservatives we eat over time can build up and cause damage like sickness and disease. If you're Christian, meditate on some healing scriptures on Andrew Womac's site.

Walmart.
Ask doctor for samples. Talk to doctor about getting something affordable and where to seek help.
