This is a very industrial city with a blue collar feel to it. It's quite cold in the winter being so far north. It's stagnant economically and the government is quite conservative in most things. Not much overseas business moving in because of this. Shenyang also has a history of rampant corruption and mafia-like dealings.

It is a nice city. Very cheap food.
