its a deterent.

back then they were pushing monotheism (beleif in one god only)

the best way to ensure that the people continue to believe is if the church leaders (or whoever wrote the bible) threatened the people into beleiving by putting them on a very short leash. the crime? pain and suffering....then they went farther and made that pain and suffering last for all of eternity.

what better way to keep people in line then to threaten them with pain.

God is Holy and Just and must punish sin

why does the trooper give us a ticket for speeding? to get our money - or influence us to drive safely - ride with one - we have had 5 deaths in our county tonight - from accidents - some were speeding - too bad we could not give them a ticket instead - so they could live - but they chose to speed -
and paid the price

people who choose to blaspheme God pay the price, too

John 3:16-17

He is the almighty.....He is a fair and just God......we are warned in the Bible not to blaspheme........that is our choice to blaspheme or not.......it's our choice to go to Heaven or bust hell wide open.......the law warns you not to drink and drive.....if you do and you're caught, you're in jail.......what about disobeying the almighty who made the human police man......you're you need to get some backbone....

Mark 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:

3:30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

I had the same question wen I was a teenager. I prayed and asked elders of my church, and realized that blaspheming of the Holy Spirit is to reject it, therefore rejecting God, henceforth not being saved, ultimately going to Hell.

It is just the way God wants it. Don't blaspheme the Holy Spirit and you wont get sent to hell.

I'd just like to point out that whenever someone says something like "The God I believe in doesn't send people to hell" to make God more suitable for that person, they are breaking the 2nd commandment that states:

"You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth"

They are making God more convenient for themselves, not obeying his word as it is stated.

Because he doen't have ant mind, like human, because only because of that we are thinking bad and good things or we are seeing dualities in everything . but as he doesn't have mind he never see dualities, but at the same time when a trouble comes to his creation by a another creation, he creates a new eternal who can hear or convey his message in such a way that we understand.

He wouldn't. Which leaves me to believe that an all-loving God doesn't exist? If any one of those self-proclaimed children of Jesus actually took the time to read the Bible, they'd see that God was nothing more than the hypocrite who couldn't make up his mind whether to love people who didn't believe, or to kill them.

no..God wouldn't ,God is a God of compassion and forgiveness and love, not the fire and brimstone God that we were made to fear but a loving God.. im so sad that so many people are afraid of God..I was raised in a church and abandon the beliefs for so long and God took care of me.. I cursed him and turned my back on him for so long he never forsake me and took me out of somethings that were no way out.. I would say God will always watch out for you but you have to talk to him again and ask forgiveness and remember that he exist .I have and it helps but for many years I choose to be one that questioned everything and refused to call myself a true believer but he never disbelieve me and took care of me and watched over me .. God is good not evil like he has been portrayed to where he is going to curse you and make you burn in a lake of fire..thats the word of man scaring you into repression its not Gods words.. so dont worry just remember God is very real ,take it from someone that knows that he has been watched over and cared for when the chips were down for me i never asked God for anything I was embarrassed but guess what he always pulled me out of the fire.. does that sound like an angry God to you ?

The Flying Spaghetti Monster is gentle.
He does not send anyone to eternal damnation.
He wiggles His noodley appendages for our delight.
We cook and eat pasta to worship Him.
