You have shown a very serious case of compassion my friend, I applaud you, you have shown Love to your enemy and are not afraid to express your heart to others in the hope that they follow your example of the correct way to Act. Of whatever creed you belong, you are a real human being on the Path.

I congratulate you on your example, please accept my humble praise....and please continue....

Peace from a Buddhist....I too felt compassion for this sad human being....if only I was as brave as you to express it in this climate of hate and misunderstanding...

I was saddened. I didn't even want to know the "time" of his death. I understand he died with great dignity. Feelings in Iraq are divided, & understandably. This isn't the sort of thing I do, but I feel compelled, & so I will. "No man is an iland, intire of it selfe; every man is a peece of the continent, a part of the maine; if a Clod be washed away from the sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a promontorie were, as well as if the Mannor of thy friends or of thine owne were; any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee." I "think" there's something in the bible about, "Judge not, lest thee be judged." I know MANY Americans who felt this was a tragedy. It doesn't matter at all how many thumbs down I get on this. Christians believe in "evil" & "evil" is the blood lust that started & ended all of this.

I'm not sure if I know any Americans who prayed for him, but I've heard that 75% of the Americans agreed with the execution. I suppose the rest are far too wise to believe all that they see/hear from the media, eh? I wonder how many people know the truth about Bush...?... Far too wise because they believe that there's a good and bad side to all humans, and they recognize the fact that the media usually only shows the bad side of people (except Bush's, LOL!!!!).
Oh, but it's VERY generous of you to pray for Saddam. After all, we're all humans, right? How many of us actually would be happy knowing that people want us dead and would be willing to celebrate our death instead of mourning over us? Yes, I wholeheartedly agree that Saddam was, for the most part, an unfair ruler who wronged his people, according to the media. But what about Bush? Why does Bush take control over other nations, fighting wars with them, allowing the deaths of millions of innocent children, women, men? Just HOW many rulers in human history are we aware of who were just to their people? I know of very few (one of whom was King Solomon, peace be upon him). Soooo.... can we just be in peace knowing that God will judge him fairly no matter how we humans may wish God would deal with him?
To God we all belong, and to Him is our return.

I dont think many did pray for him,,Sadam was a brave man even at the time of his death. His wrong doings were more focussed by the media than his good doings. He did alot of good to his nation though he blasted Northern Iraq once.
Many Indians here had tears in their eyes on hearing the news
May his soul rest in peace.

I did. I confessed to the Universe that I am not capable of fully understanding what is most just, and prayed that whatever is most just be his, and our, fate. If that means he burns in Hell? So be it. If it means he reincarnates to try again? So be it (and hopefully he learned something!) Earthly laws have been fulfilled--as for the rest, only God can know for sure.

The Lord told us to pray for our enemies, so yes I did and I pray for Bin Laden too. I pray that they will find they way to the Lord before it's too late for them to repent. It's a hard thing to do, but I do it anyway and it is from the heart.

Might as well, since God usually determines a person's place in the afterlife American Idol style - most votes via prayer decides it.
