Knowing some things about the Muslim religion, I can only say that this raligion has some diferences in life philosophy. This philosophy says that whatever happens to you is already written in your book of life, or how Muslims say "Maktub". During the centuries, they have learned to accept things commly, and than "save only things that could be saved". They don't turn over to the past, but only look frward. You should do it too. It could help you. Good luck!

It's called: Keeping it a secret...
You can get depressed whether you were a Muslim or not...
But strong believers don't allow themselves to go through long depression and sadness and go for suicide and cutting themselves ( not u ) because they have strong faith in Allah along with hope that whatever is happening Allah will take care of it... And a lot of Muslims see life as a mortal thing, it will end and it isn't everlasting, therefore they nurture their soul with Quran and good deeds that make you feel good yourself to get an everlasting life in heaven...sounds good?

Maybe there is a cultural stigma on mental illness, where it is considered a sign of weakness to discuss such things. I assure you that there are people out there who are suffering inside as much as you are, and they are probably hiding it.

I strongly urge you to seek out a psychologist, counselor, or therapist to discuss your feelings. If that is not possible in your country, at least use online resources. www.about.com has a section about depression, with lots of links to other webpages and a discussion board where you can talk to other people who feel like you do.

I think you'll find that muslims are humans like everybody else. They too suffer from mental illness.

Go see a doctor that can make you get better soon. Good luck!

Muslims are no different to any one else. My guess is that your people live a rigid lifestyle and having to live in the Western world with non Muslim girls makes it hard for you. Go and talk to a doctor. Talk to other girls your age.

Its effects all people, you are not alone, I feel that the Muslims have a great deal of pride in their community, and they work it out among their selfs, Your not alone. I think that they see their priest or minster and seek help from the elders of the church, I would suggest you should do the same. bless you

It is because most of us go undiagnosed and don't have proper knowledge about mental health. You know only those people are getting depressed who know what depression is.
