the new Shelby Mustang GT500 SVO MACH 1 KING HERTZ COBRA R or whatever the fvck other stupid tags they put on the damn thing. it has 500 hundred horsepower, and does a high 12 in the quarter mile for a really good driver, and the average person driving it on the street would get low 13s. an 02 Camaro with 200 less horsepower runs the same times! an 03 Cobra can do low 12s. what the hell? and i know that it DOES weigh 4000 pounds, but thats no excuse. im seriously upset about the sheer uselessness of this car. why did they put this atrocity into production?

i don't know what you are talking about an 02 Formula being slow. what the hell? but the fact of the matter is, for how much power the mustang has, and how much it costs- it is a complete ripoff! either way, a 500 horsepower SUPERCHARGED car, should not be running so slow no matter who is driving it.

Hey, I couldn't agree with you more. I'm a Ford man myself and am sssssssssoooooooo pist that they keep playing them selves. Any Camaro SS, WS6, C6Zo6 will pretty much put to shame what the SVT ant Ford created. Fine, 500 HP, that's at the motor. After the drive train you loosing like 50 horses. I say the problem Is simple. Theyre to heavy, to tall, really sell for a female comsumer and think more of safety then performance. They have alott of catching up to do to even prove any rights, even with the 03 SVT Cobra. They just dont make good horsepower fast enough. Also, the suspension suck plain perion. They have to lighten the car, lower It and make It more airodinamic. This question really bothers me cause I always think the same, meanwhile people rant and rave about It. A 12.7 Is not cutting It for me and Im sure lots of other ford fans. Shi$t... they shoulf fire the designers and let us do the configurations. The whine Is cool, but also annoying, and those stripes gotta go like yesterday. So Im with you. I owned a 1990 foxbody Lx that was running10.582 127MPH with not many mods. Just fine tuneing and lightining the car with good driving skills. Want an example, look at the Ford GT mid engine based car. Z06's are shameing then. This Is a bad situation because all Ford wants to do Is sell, sell, sell willing to give uop the reputation of the pony car for funds. Later, Stevie Bottz.. NYC

That's a dealer problem. They don't own the dealers. They sell cars to the dealer. The dealer sells cars to you. With Shelby you are paying extra for the name and Shelby modifies a Ford so its another middle man to add costs. Same goes for Saleen, Steeda, and Roush. Like Stupid Flanders said. You can get the same car with a different badge that won't have the extra new car or aftermarket mark up. - The Challenger is just a 2 door and Charger. - The Shelby Mustang GT is a $10k paint job and badge on a Mustang GT. You are just paying for the name.

First off the car may be fine, just not the driver! This "atrocity" was put into production because it was the personal car of all time. It DOES go an okay speed(not as fast as it used to) but it is the only car that the president of Ford Motor Company wants. He wants it over the GT (40). Now i know that the newer mustangs only look good now. When you compare to the older classics they suck in speed. Hope you can solve your problem with this car.

well, you could have two exact same people with the EXACT same car and one will always drive faster/ better then the other! it all depends on how you "train" your car! people that endup running low 13's are stupid drivers that don't have the car "trained" right! cars get used to the way you drive them! and if you don't drive them right then your car ends up sucking! it all depends on the drive! and actually the new GT500 is actually pretty good! still prefer the 67! but meh! i just got my car a year ago! i was so dissapointed by the slowness of it! i hated it! i got a 2002 firebird formula! yes a FORMULA! not a trans am! the formula is the fastes there is (and is damned sexy!) and it was driving so slow and the performance was horrible! but after the car got used to me......it was fast! so...it all depends on the driver!

Do you really have nothing better to do with your time then bash on a car which you couldn't even own if you wanted to?!? I'm just as big a fan of Camaro, Mach 1, Cobra, etc....but I mean come on....find something better to do...go drive one for instance....you might change your mind!

I know you don't even own one of these cars. I have sold 2 of these cars which are a limited production. 1 to someone in Mexico, and the other to a local buyer who was shocked we charged him over sticker. After speaking to him 2 weeks later he had put some miles on his car and told me he now knew why he spent the extra money. This car is Ford's Heritage. People don't buy these cars to tear them up on track. Save yourself some money and buy you a chevy you can dump your hard earned cash on. If you wreck the car or blow the motor, no one will care.

the car has the power, but the factory puts limits on the factory automobiles, you have to adjust it for your self. they have chips and hand held computers to readjust your toque and horsepower. I know what you mean though. i took a gt 2006 for a test drive before i bought my 5.4 f150. my truck would smoke that so called muscle car. i was very disappointed.

Relax ! Calm Down !
DON'T POP A VEIN IN YOUR FOREHEAD!

Why does it bother you so much? I mean do you own one or something? What difference does it make to you ?

I just sold 2 Shelby GT500s & those owners are pleased as punch......it ain't your money & what do you care how they drive their cars or who they are!

Why should that bother you? Get over it & buy &/or drive whatever you want & don't worry so much about other peoples preferences!
SHEEEEESE!
