I've never used them but my parents have had a bad run in with them.. They were in an accident which was in no way their fault. Allstate covered the responsible party of the accident. Allstate refuses to pay ALL claims, regardless of fault, unless you take them to court (or is the case at least with Allstate in AR). Upon further investigation, my parents learned this has happened with others they know. So even though the state trooper said it was the other drivers fault, and witnesses say it was the other drivers fault, my parents have to spend $$$ for a lawyer to take Allstate to court to collect what they should rightfully pay. And Allstate has tied it up for almost 2 years. They aren't trying to get mega amounts of $$$ either, just to get reimbursement for the truck that was totaled and for my step-dad's emergency room visit and the air-ambulance transfers.
So my advice is, don't use them. If they treat people like this, I don't think they are a good company to do business with.

Well I have Allstate as my insurance company and I am not very happy with them. My husband passed away in May and in order to transfer the title of his truck into my name I had to get a copy of the insurance card in my name. To make a long story short it took over 5 months for my agent and the customer service line to get everything straight. When I finally went to see the agent after the fifth time she chuckled and said " oh we did not change the name on one of the two screens.. Sorry." She will be sorry when I change my insurance company and write a formal letter of complaint about the whole situation. One insurance agent I spoke with regarding the situation was bothered by the fact that she did not help me in any way shape or form through this disastrous situation.

I work for Allstate and carry State Farm.

I really like their new Your Choice Auto program. You can pay a bit more each month to protect you from losing discounts and getting surcharges, even if you have an at fault accident.

But, their auto isn't really competitve (in GA at least), and the homeowners is cheap when you first switch (especially if you have a brand new home), but swiftly increases year after year.

Stay away from them, they are the worst in the industry. We used Allstate for homeowners ins. Then when we had a devastating fire in the house the adjuster DENIED our claim stating we were NOT covered for FIRE when it states clearly in the policy we were. It was the most absurd, surreal, and shocking insurance experience we have ever had. No one returned our calls, no letters responded to. We of course got a lawyer involved and sued. It took 7 months of legal wrangling with them to get a settlement, then another two months to get a fair one. We did some research on Allstate and discovered the practice seems to be common with them. The law of averages works to their advantage as there are a sunstantial number of people who do not challenge an initial denial. They are a pack of scumbags and liars, stay away from them like a pitbull with HIV.

I had Allstate & then went online & found much better rates. You may want to try getting a quote online. I am paying less than ½ of what I was before I did.

I used them for car insurance for 8 years. 2 years ago, my rates jumped about 50%-no accidents or tickets that year. So I found another insurance company.

do not hear to the 2d chick....of route she is going to say that because her mom works for them. hear to the first chick...inventive is a thanks to bypass. I actually have dealt with Allstate and enable me allow you to recognize...do not hear to those advertisements. they are sneaky and conniving. basically google what human beings imagine of them and also you would come for your end. they are large for his or her rates yet at the same time as it really is time to record a declare...that's at the same time as they are going to turn their decrease back on you. they are going to do something to attempt to push aside the declare or pay as low as conceivable. So do your self a choose and bypass with inventive.

They suck big time. They're the worst out there - don't touch them with a ten foot pole.
