I'm just getting over a cold that has lasted 3 weeks :( I feel for ya.
Hot liquids will help your throat. My favourite is hot lemonade. (hot water and Country Made Lemonade crystals) You can have hot iced tea, hot tea with leomon and honey will help etc. Avoid anything with caffiene though. Chicken soup is good for you. :)
A warm salt gargle will help too.
Antibiotics wont help unless it is an infection, and most arent. Try and go to your doctor when you can though,
Hot bath with no fan on will make things steamy and help you breathe. Turn on a humidifier if you have one.
Get well soon!

Gargle with warm salt water (iodized, sea. or kosher, it doesn't matter) this will soothe your throat.
Also a 50/50 peroxide/water mix in the morning can help clear it up.
Get checked for strep infection by your MD, otherwise it'll just keep coming back.

Ugh, I hate that.
Steam yourself first, close the bathroom door, turn on the hot water in the tub or shower, and breathe in.
Gargle with a half-tsp. baking soda or salt mixed in with warm water.
Drink orange juice and take vitamin C and zinc.
Eat a bowl of chicken soup.
Use a cough drop lozenge.
Sorry to hear about the pain, hope it gets better soon.

You probably have a strep infection. You can try gargling with salt and water but if I were you, I would get some antibiotics from your doctor.
The infection can easily spread to your sinuses and lungs and bring on a bout of pneumonia.

It reminds me when I used to get tonsilitis...my throat would swell, and you might even have a tooth infected...get to the doctors and take your temperature, you might need to get some antibiotics,...but in the mean time, you could dilute some hydrogen peroxide, one part to four parts, and gargle, but don't swallow, of course...and also, warm salt water helps..but get into the doctors asap,..God blesss
